St Mary’s 2025 STEM Competition - Paper Aeroplanes

 

Date: Monday 28th April 2025

 

Winner

 

The aeroplane that travels the furthest wins!

 

Prizes:

  • Medals and certificates for the top 3 places in each Key Stage.
  • Certificate for best design or themed aeroplane. Themes must be suitable for school.
  • Certificate for the most complex design.

 

Rules

There will be a competition for KS1 and Foundation Stage and another competition for KS2.

 

You may use:

  • up to 3 pieces of A4 paper or thin card
  • plasticine, blu-tack or similar may be used to provide weight or balance
  • 10 paper art straws
  • glue and sellotape may be used to hold your plane together

 

You do not need to stick to a traditional paper aeroplane design but you can if you wish.

No motors, engines, slingshots, propellers, mechanical elements, Lego etc may be used.

STEM club is organised by Mr Green.

 

The club is held on Thursday after school and is for Year 3 - 6 pupils and will begin after term on Thursday 7th November. 

 

Children are dismissed from the school gate after STEM club at 4.15pm.   

 

STEM club is currently full and has a waiting list. Please contact the school office to be added to the waiting list.

 

STEM club will finish at the end of the Spring term.

 

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:

Thursday 27th March - last STEM club of 2025.
