We are currently raising funds for Young Lives Vs Cancer. This charity does amazing work for children, and the families of children living with cancer, be it financial support providing grants and unlocking crucial financial support, day to day support: social workers helping with the everyday challenges cancer brings, and a free place to stay around the corner from hospital, their homes from home keep families together during treatment.
Cancer has recently affected a family of St Mary's Primary School and we would love to donate back to this charity who have been supporting our family.
Raffle and Sponsored Colour Run
In light of this, we will be holding a raffle during an afternoon of fun for our children and their families where we will be holding a sponsored colour run, with the goal to raising as close to £1,500 as we possibly can. Previous raffles have always proven very popular with our families, and all money raised at the event will go to Young Lives vs Cancer.
Mrs Dunstan, our Headteacher, will be running the London Marathon in April to help raise even more funds for this amazing charity.
During the afternoon of Wednesday 27th March 2024, we are going to have a sponsored colour run, where we invite parents to come in to watch the children being covered in powder paint as they run around the school track. Further information will be shared nearer the time. The funds raised for this will be shared between Young Lives vs Cancer and our PFA.
We will also be running a raffle, to be drawn during the afternoon of the colour run, where all proceeds will go to the Young Lives vs Cancer charity.
During the next few weeks, we will be sending home one raffle booklet to each family. The tickets are £1 each or £5 per booklet. Please return sold tickets and all monies raised to the school. We are hoping to secure a wonderful selection of prizes, having already been given a brand-new iPad, for first prize! There will be additional tickets available at the school office if you think you could sell more.
We are hoping to ask local businesses for their support by donating a prize or gift voucher. Therefore, we hope you do not mind if we send home with your child a letter for your business or place of work. We love to promote and support local businesses, and we would be able to promote your business on the fundraising page of our website, as well as on our Facebook page.
