An exciting new children's nursery is due to open at St Mary’s on 27 November 2017, and we are looking to appoint a senior practitioner and a nursery practitioner.

 

Nursery Senior Practitioner – minimum Level 3

Salary: Grade 14, Point 17 (£17,772) pro-rata

34 hours per week, all year round

 

The senior leader will be expected to inspire staff and support the nursery manager by creating a first rate nursery. S/he must be highly motivated and have high standards in all areas of nursery management. S/he will deputise for the manager/deputy during any absence. We believe in educating the whole child and are passionate about creating quality learning environments for all.

 

Nursery Practitioner – minimum Level 3

Salary: Grade 15, Points 11 to 13 (£15,807 to £16,491) pro-rata

32.5 hours per week term time only, plus 2 weeks

 

The nursery practitioner will need to be a dedicated Early Years’ professional with the ability to work closely with staff and parents. In this role, you will be expected to work on your own initiative, as well as under the guidance of others, ensuring the nursery children are provided with the best possible care and education.

 

This is a great opportunity for two dynamic, qualified and experienced candidates to help us to make this an outstanding day care provider.

 

Selection criteria for both candidates include:

  • A good standard of education, i.e. 3 or more GCSEs, including Maths and English at Grade C

  • Previous experience of working in a nursery or educational setting is essential

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage

  • Competent ICT skills
